laughing, right here

Rache & I, these days

Many years ago,
before either of us become moms,

I dreamed my sister Rache and I
were leaders in a
human uprising
against brutal
space aliens

(both of us are
horror lovers, so:

in this dream,
there came a time
where Rache got really
sad and tired about the
kind of life that could be lived
in such a prolonged fight.

her my-dream self told me, “Deb,
if I can’t study Beowulf,
why am I even here?
I need you to
let me go.” Continue reading “laughing, right here”

My sister’s drawings

In my last post, I mentioned that I was coloring my sister’s drawings. I included a copy of one drawing I hadn’t yet colored.

Here is where you can discover what’s inspiring her to draw these,

as well as hints of why I feel drawn to coloring them.
